I DO AIR - MARTINA AMATI (2009) *

Written and directed by Italian filmmaker Martina Amati, I Do Air won the Best Short Film BAFTA in 2010. So was it the best short film made in the UK during 2009? Probably not. It is a dialogue-free film that tells the story of a young girl feeling insecure at a swimming pool - manifest in her inability to dive off the diving board. When the rest of the children have gone, she returns to the pool to find two adult male free-divers doing underwater lengths. Believing that this could be her calling, she decides to join them. How will they react? Should her parents or school be investigated for a total lack of supervision? If you like I Do Air by Martina Amati, be sure to rate it and share it.
